what plane should i get and from where should i lease it from if i live in sanantonio.|||You don't 'lease' airplanes as a student pilot. You rent them by the flight-hour from the FBO or school where you are taking lessons.
For Vespertine: In the USA you may take lessons with an instructor, and log dual instruction at any age. You don't need a student pilot certificate (or a medical) until you are ready to fly solo, and you can do that at age 16.|||I do not believe that you can sign a lease for anything until you are 18. That is the age that you are an "adult" and you are responsible for anything you do. Until then your parents or guardian have to sign for you|||The FBO from which you take flying lessons will have planes you can rent for your lessons. You don't have to rent or lease a plane separately from your lessons.
There are several FBOs that offer flight training in San Antonio. You can find a list of FBOs at www.aopa.org.|||Have your parents rent a Cessna 172. Once you are 15 you can get imployed in a flight school and gain hours for tutoring other people for free!|||Another option is to get together with a couple of friends who also want to learn to fly %26amp; buy an inexpensive plane in parternership with them. All the expenses would be shared (insurance, hangar/tie-down). You each pay in a fixed amount per flight hour into a maintenance fund to be used to cover maintenance costs. You will find this to be the least expensive method to obtain your certificates. Aircraft rental for a Cessna 150 will probably run around $75/hour. If it takes you 50 hours to get your license (about average) that is $3750 each. If you have 4 partners that is $15,000. Of course fuel is included in rental--you would have to pay for your own fuel but a 150 can legally be operated on auto gas (much cheaper than Avgas). Another advantage of a partnership over rental is that you have control over the airplane %26amp; can use it whenever you like avoiding scheduling delays. You can also take long %26amp; overnight cross-country flights. That is difficult %26amp; expensive with rental planes.|||dude i'm 15 years old as well and i am going to flight school to start earning my private pilots license. You don't need to lease an aircraft when your training, you usually pay for how many hours you use the aircraft. In another month from now i am going to start training for the private pilot license but you can only get the license at age 17 but you can start training and gaining flight hours when your 15. Don't worry i did alot of my research and i am soon going to start soon.|||I am confused, as per Federal Aviation Regulations Part 61 Subpart C, 61.83:
"In order to be eligible for a student pilot certificate you must be at least 16 to operate anything aside from a glider or balloon."
