I've just found out my parent's identity has been stolen, their bank accounts were cleaned out and I am wondering if some information that I typed into the internet like my phone number and name could have made this happen. Please tell me how these things happen, because I am very concerned and am thinking of trying to track down every place where I have any info about myself and terminate it. I am very very upset and scared because my family is low middle class and there are a lot of things we need and this is just going to kill us.|||Usually the thieves use any combination of name, address, social security number, credit card or debit card number, bank account number, and date of birth. They also make use of receipts and statements that are thrown in the trash.





Just your name and phone number are not enough because they can get that from the phone book. If they cleaned out the bank account, they had a lot more information.

What information is mandatory for me to put on a personalized check?

I am in the process of ordering personal checks. The forms asks me to fill in my personal information to be printed on each check. I do not want to put my home address, or if I do, I'd like to leave off my apartment number. What all do I HAVE to put on there? What can I leave off?|||Just your name and address has to be on there. You do not have to put anything else. This is so they can verify the check with your other identification. As far as your apartment # you do not have to put that. The address should match your license.|||If you are concerned about a stalker getting your address, put your driver's license number on there. That way, if a store wants to look at your license for ID, they can match the number up.





I don't think there is a legal requirement to put any information on the check, other than the routing information at the bottom. However, a store might require a check with a pre-printed name and address, and does not have to take your check if it doesn't meet their standards. Some stores might even ask for a phone number. Again, they can't force you to give your phone number, but also have no obligation to take your check, either.





Address with no apartment number sounds like a fair compromise, but I would think it wouldn't stop a stalker from showing up at the complex and waiting to follow you.|||You can put as much or as little as you want.

How can I recover information on a damaged jump drive?

So my computer was transferring some information to a jump drive. It was taking longer than it should have ( it does that sometimes) and I force restarted the computer. It seems to have wiped everything off of the jump drive, but when I try to add something to the jump drive, it says that there is no more room. Please help me! How can I recover the information that was on there? |||This problem is very simple, when you forced restarted the pc, the jump drive was still getting data from the pc. When the pc switched off, the jump drive unexpectedly stopped getting data and it got corrupted. In order to solve this, go to my computer and right click the jump drive. Then click format. With corrupted data I don't recommend doing a quick format just use the defaults and click format!|||Just format the drive and then use "bad copy" to recover your data.


It's an excellent program for recovering data from floppy, cd, dvd, jump drives etc.


You must buy a program if you want to recover your files, or you can search for some serials on the net.

I checked everything else it only needs plumbing|||The first respondent is absolutely correct. If you can contact a local plumber, tell him / the company what you need to have installed, as in how many fixtures, drains, etc. You may be able to get a ball park price on the plumbing installation.


Keep in mind however, that in order to install the plumbing (water supply) to all the fixtures, the walls and crawlspace will be torn apart all over the mobile home. The repair costs of these are rarely included in any plumbers' bids.


If you want to have expensive repair costs, ALWAYS have your plumber do your sheetrock repair.


The other consideration is the crawlspace repairs. In order to get access to all the water piping in the floor, the vapor barrier and insulation must be cut and removed for access. The resultant mess is repairable, but usually it takes somebody who really knows their stuff to put a vapor/ rodent barrier back correctly so that it protects the system and the house from freezing.


I have seen more than a few cases that wasnt done, and I ended up chasing the frozen piping the full length of the house, repiping the whole house in the dead of winter.


The cost of doing the plumbing work and repairs afterwards will probably cost nearly half the cost of moving another mobile home/manufactured house to the lot.

A club I belong to ownes 2 AS-k13'S. We want to find information on the correct landing attitude of the glider. Our flight manual does not give the correct landing attitude (main wheel, tail wheel, tail and main, skid and main.) I have searched the net and can not find any information that was sourced from Schleicher Aircraft Corp. in regards to the correct attitude.|||You'll touch down level on the main wheel. Just level out a couple of feet off the runway and add spoiler until you settle in. Hit the tailwheel first and you do some damage. It's just meant for ground handling mostly. Wont even stay together if its on the ground and you make a sharp turn on rollout. I have found that using alternate sources to verify, like some of the documents listed above. Wills and Obituaries are great sources to being sure you have the right individual. I look in lots of microfilm where original documents have been microfilmed. I cross-reference everything until I find a legal document to prove that the ancestor is connected to my Mother.

Are information records on pending sales in Ft Worth a matter of public record, or is the information only available after the close? If the pending information is a matter of public record, where can I go to find out the details?|||It is not public record as the deal may still fall through and the seller would then be at a disadvantage for the next round of buyers. Sometimes your buyers-agent talking to the sellers-agent of the house of interest can gain more info than they should be able to since they might consider it a foregone conclusion. This is not something that sellers-agent should do though.





Also, this is kind of unethical if you are planning to use it for that house should it come back on the market. But if you are using it as a comp for some reason then you shouldn't feel as though you are doing anything wrong, just looking for advance knowledge that will be know eventually anyhow.

I know that neurons contain information and that the information can be 'thought of' when the neuron is excited via stimuli.

Perhaps each memory neuron gives off a distinctive pulse and these strung together with all the other neurons which make up that memory make, what we interpret as, 'our' memory.





Memory can deteriorate over time if not 'remembered' often. Perhaps a memory is like an equilibrium reaction involving the neurons that make up a memory and electricity. For a memory to be maintained the person has to remember the memory often thus making a fresh equilibrium reaction that will be a strong memory. So when the reaction has stabilized the memory is lost or dead perhaps? however, if you have the book written out already, a short outline would help to sell it because few people will actually sit down and read a full book...

Thanks in advance.|||Go down and talk with the local county extension agent. You can either visit the one in the county in which you want to start farming or any one that's close. Here in Texas they're usually based out of the county courthouse, but you can always find the closest one using the Internet. They are here as a resource to provide information, answer questions and help farmers be more productive. They can also point you in the direction of resources that will help you determine suitable farming conditions, crops, water and soil issues that pertain to farming.





There's also usually a federal government official somewhere in the vicinity of the extension agent. If not in the same courthouse, often in the same city. They have different names so I honestly can't tell you exactly what to look for. The county extension agent will be able to put you in contact with them. They are great resources as well for learning about government requirements and permitting that regulate farming, soil, water and environmental issues. They also have info on government subsidies and related assistance program that are available to farmers.

I recently filled in a rental application for an apartment in Rhode Island. I had to fill in my national origin . I asked the agent if I could leave this out and he said no. It was a mandatory field. Even if you give that info there is nothing they can do with it anyway. It is illegal to discriminate based on national origin.





EDIT: Discrimination is hard to prove. It is typicaly a case of your word against theirs. You would have to sue them.|||It IS illegal for them to ask, unless they are asking if you are a US citizen or not.





If they DO make you fill it in, and then don't rent it to you, you can sue them for discrimination. Ask for a copy of your application.|||You would need to look up the law in RI, but, asking what nationality one is seems odd. Since there are laws against discriminating against race when renting a place, that question really doesn't need to even be on there.|||They can only ask and demand proof that you are in the US legally, not your origin.
