How could I get Information To Last FOREVER?

This world decomposes, people die, tombstones become weather worn, concrete falls apart, paper decays, files can become corrupt. How could I create a piece of information that would last forever, or the longest possible, what are some of your ideas? What form could you imagine information such as a word, or a picture could last forever? What is the oldest form of human information? Deliver me some thought provoking ideas please!|||Open your mind to what you see around you as to how people without realizing have made an imprint on the mind of man's over the years. From the ancient world to our world now.

I hope you understand the full magnitude of what it means when people reject the significance of recording history or treasuring the past without changing in any way shape or form.

When one becomes skeptical at the meaning and purpose for treasuring our past one becomes cynical about leaving a lasting impression. But take heart my friend. The past has shown us it can be done. Do not be discouraged or disheartened that it cannot be done presently. It can be done. Just do it and it will be done by you.

Do by a time capsule. Share all your thoughts on youtube or on a dvd or whatever and place it there for all to see. Or you can do something that can cause a stir in public that will last forever. Word of mouth is still useful today as it was in ancient time. And the preserving in the way that it was is as important as well.

Take care.

Later.|||"The only thing that possibly last forever is a Memory." Tell that to someone who's worked with an Alzheimer's patient...

So far as I understand it, the laws of physics are the only kind of universal, eternal memory that probably exists. Of course it's impossible to prove beyond the shadow of any reasonable doubt that there has never once been any type of deviation from any of the laws of physics (thus constituting a temporary loss of syntax or information), but if we accept that the universe is a constant, we are led to this belief.

It's kind of like thinking about creating a perpetuum mobile. In theory, the physical universe is it's own perpetuum mobile, assuming that big bang leads to big crunch leads to big bang, ad infinitum.

And now that I've used a little obligatory Latin, you know that I'm an authority. Note sarcasm.

Its like.. space is like a ballon, the outside rubber of the ballon is where we are, the hard drive will push through that until its inside and just stay there..|||As you said this world decomposes... how can anything last forever??? I don't know what form of information would last the longest but at least nowadays we have the internet!

and the internet can't die, can it? files can become corrupt, websites can be taken down, but you'd always have the internet I suppose so that's a way of having information.|||I think the best way to make information last forever (or for a very, very long time) is through the creation of traditions in our culture. Word of mouth can be passed along to the next generation over and over again and can act as an endless chain. As long as we possess communication skills, the information will live on.|||Technically the oldest form of known human info would be... art. Cavemen drew on caves before they could read or write

But i think humans ARE the oldest form of human info itself. Right? We were made before we could draw, read, write, or do anything.

Nothing lasts forever. Except maybe energy (potential energy ect...)|||Write a book and title it Bible. That lasts forever and people believe it. Seriously, if you're trying to out date the recording of information, you'll have no one left to read what you have to say. Try put it all into picture illustrations and paint it on cave walls.|||A memory certainly wouldn't last forever... The only thing I can think of is to launch a capsule into outer space, if you got the trajectory right I'm sure it could be flying through space for a million years before hitting something... not 100% sure about that.|||This is a very interesting question. The only thing that possibly last forever is a Memory.|||carve it into something like gold and send it out into space. Nothing will last forever since eventually even protons will likely decay
